Diana Parker
A RETIRED teacher has told of her 'amazing time' reaching the semi-final of a television reality show.
Diana Parker of Bridport made it to the semi-final of Channel 4’s The Great Pottery Throwdown. Originally from Derbyshire, 62-year-old Diana recently retired to the area with her husband, Chris. The former art, design and textiles teacher took up pottery when she was 18, before putting it on the backburner to pursue teaching.
Years later, she stunned expert potters and judges, Keith Jones and Richard Miller, and fellow contestants on The Great Pottery Throwdown with a variety of intricately crafted pieces including pots, a vegetable lamp and a cheese dome.
She also runs Diana Parker Ceramics in Bridport where she makes and sells hand thrown porcelain and stoneware bowls, jugs and tea lights.
