Emily Young

Acclaimed by the Financial Times as “Britain’s greatest living stone sculptor”, Bridport is the home of Emily’s large UK workshop and private gallery, with most of the studio team being Bridport residents.

Young's ‘Lost Mountain Head I’ (2013) was on display outside Bridport Arts Centre forecourt throughout the summer. It was wonderful to be able to share Emily’s work in such a prominent position in the town.

First shown at the Venice Biennale in 2013, ‘Lost Mountain Head I’ has remained part of Emily’s collection, and has been shown at international and UK venues including Berkeley Square, Bankside (next to the Tate Modern) and returning to the Venice Biennale last year, where Emily’s show won the European Cultural Centre’s ‘Sculpture and Installation’ prize.
